Charlie:
Here’s one from Mark in Deerpark. He says he watched your videos about stinky bathrooms, and heard about your answers, but he has the opposite problem.
Tom:
He has a good smelling bathroom. Nice what’s the problem. I can tell him how to stink it up really easy.
Charlie:
He renders forth the scent of roses, if you know what I mean. He says that his shower’s used daily. You had said, that when they’re not used, sometimes they can get that stink thing.
Tom:
That’s true.
Charlie:
Well, he uses his daily, and it never stops up. He says, when they take a shower, it seems that that stinky smell comes into the shower. What could that be? What can he do?
Podcast: Play in new window
Tom:
I’d have a shower pan test done, because if the shower pan is gone, and it’s all saturated in there, and it starts to dry out, it’s not bad. Once it reactivates and gets wet, it’ll start to smell real bad because the mold, and mildew, and stuff that’s growing around there, it’s excited and starts to get smelly.
Charlie:
Excited?
Tom:
Yeah.
Charlie:
Activated even.
Tom:
That’s a good word, actually. I’d have a shower pan test done. The other thing it could be is the water.
Charlie:
Ding. Ding. That’s what I think. He’s in Deerpark. I’m betting that’s what it is.
Tom:
Yeah, so you’ve got one or two of things. If he’s got the stinky water, what happens is you smell in the shower. They can’t do anything. Filter it maybe. Call Aquatex, see if they’ve got a way to handle that. It’s the steam and all the stuff being added to the water. Last week, Charlie, 55,000 gallons of gasoline was dumped in our waterways by an accident not too long ago. Wasn’t, here, in Houston.
Charlie:
Where?
Tom:
Wasn’t in Houston. What I’m saying is, you just don’t know anymore what’s in the water. He can have it tested, but when it starts to steam, that’s when you really start to smell it, when you shower, unless he’s taking really cold showers.
