Charlie: Bobby is here from League City with a question. He says, I have return airs in the ceiling of each of my four bedrooms in a brand new one story house. He’s got a four inch media filter up there in the attic, and the builder says he does not need air filters in the grates. He says, “Do you recommend them or not for the bedrooms? Charlie: Troy from Klein says that he has a two-story house built in 1985, Tom. That is the year I became a Texan, moved down here that year.
Tom: Oh yeah, you beat me by a year.
Charlie: Multiple pinhole leaks in his horizontal plumbing. He says he’s thinking he needs to re-pipe with PEX, and in your opinion, should he just do the horizontal, vertical, or go all the way to the fixtures? Obviously, there’s an increased cost for all of these. (more…)
Charlie: Keith in Porter wrote this one, and Tommy, he says he’s got a 50-year-old home and after Hurricane Harvey he’s replacing all the Sheetrock in the house, still has aluminum wiring in it. So he’s wondering, with the Sheetrock all down, if now’s the time for him to rewire the whole house or just do the switches and plugs? (more…)
