I recently removed carpet covering 45 year old wood floors and need to know how to clean them. I have been told plastic putty knife and Murphy’s wood cleaner.
Your thoughts?
Kindly,
Terry
Tom: I don’t know if you need the putty knife. If you’re going to use one, plastic would be the way to go if you’ve got some and I’m looking at some residual glue when they put the padding down. If that’s case, it might come up, I’m not sure if it will but it’s worth a try. You always try something in a spot. The Murphy products are actually very good, I’ve used them in a lot of cleaning processes for wood and so it’s definitely a way to go if that’s all it needs. Lots of cases they put so much glue down from the padding that they have to be refinished but hopefully it’s not in this case.
