What’s your opinion on vinyl plank flooring? I just purchased vinyl plank flooring for my living room, dining room, kitchen, breakfast room and utility room.
I was told that it was good flooring but I’ve been researching since and found some bad reviews. The flooring had some issues a couple years ago but I think they’re resolved. I can’t find any place where I see that. I’m reading about four separations and curling up. They will be removing the existing tile and carpet.

Tom:I had it in my house, my very first house for a while- liked it a lot. It was the new trend getting away from wood into a wood look. Now you can get wood look tile and other things, too. But it’s been around a long time and I suspect that if there was curling and issues like that, a lot has to do with installation of the floor.
Charlie: Mm-hmm (affirmative)
Tom: And practices of the proper types of glues and preparation. So I don’t know if I’d blame the vinyl because if it was having problems and it was years ago and it’s still being sold today it seems to be more of an installation problem than a product problem.
