I would like your suggestion on if I should have the trees pruned that are 5 years old to better show the Sago Palm in my front yard. I don’t know if it would damage the trees if pruned.

Tom’s Answer:
Tom: Sago’s do very well in a lot of light, number 1. Number 2 is you should have your trees pruned regularly. They grow better, they stay healthier. You want to deal with a professional so they just don’t start hacking away and kill it so make sure somebody knows what they’re doing. I do want to throw this out, just for all you pet owners, Sago Palms are incredibly poisonous to your animals and can kill your animals in 48 hours if they eat them and chew on the nuts. Be careful of that. I have a lot in my yard too and I think they’re very pretty plants.
