We just finished a total replumb of our house. I put a ground rod in to ground the outside faucet to see if that would help. My concern is, will that be enough to eliminate the problem? Would you have any other information or suggestions as to what else we should do to prevent any additional damage to our plumbing.

Podcast: Play in new window
Tom: No, I’m familiar with Fred and his problem and it was a very unusual one. In fact I’ve never seen anything like it and neither did the plumbers. But hopefully the ground rod will help. I’d keep an eye on it and I am still doing some research with some people that I know, some electrical, very more electrical people who are in the business to see if they can come up with any answers and I’m even calling Nova Testing to see if they can come up with some kind of idea of how to test the water to see what exactly the problem is, but electrolysis was just eating all the metal up [cross talking 00:00:28].
Charlie: All over from the well pump all the way through the house.
Tom: Not good.
Charlie: No.
Tom: All right.
