Charlie:
Last question, Bob in the Heights, he has one of those … Obviously it’s a Pier and Beam Home because he’s got those vent screens on it and stuff, some are in the attic, some on the bottom and all but, he says that some of them are stapled on the outside, some on the inside. They’re aluminum screen kind of things. He’s wondering are there any companies that sell these pre-cut?

Tom:
No, and you get back in the homes built in the ’50’s and early ’60’s. Where everything was made to size on the sight, and in the soffit vents they would cut usually on both ends. Never on the North side or the front of the house, they would cut these great big openings, and then they would put on screen and little screen mold around it, and they’d create these big soffit vents which are great. Today what you would use to replace that is 8th inch hardware cloth. I know they call it cloth, but it is a wire, and it keeps all the critters out, it holds up really well, and so you just staple it to the outside of the opening. Cut it a little bit bigger, and then frame it with a screen mold on top, cock it and paint it to look great.

Good to go.
