My husband and I live in a house built in 1978. The doorbell and intercom system are really outdated.
The doorbell can barely be heard in some of the rooms. The intercom/radio system, NuTone, is full of static and doesn’t lock onto a station. The patio speakers don’t work at all, and the door answer system does not work, nor do the individual room speakers work. Should we try to use any existing wiring for the master unit hole in the kitchen wall, or just start over? Since the old system used wired speakers, should we consider only wired ones again? What would a ballpark cost be for a job like this?
