Hi, I’m Robin with Houston Powder Coaters, and if these seats look familiar to you, it’s probably because you sat at them at a NFL game, at a concert, or even Monster Jam. These are from the world-famous NRG Stadium here in Houston, Texas.
We are in the process of refurbishing a massive overtake for them. These are going to be the stadium frames before they have been coated. We have completely disassembled them. They have about 23 years of powder coating, but they’ve done a lot of touch-up, as you can see on there.
Now, there is surface rust, but there’s also excessive love from some of the rowdy sports fans that we’re able to take care of. Now, it is 23 years and they are still in good shape, however, you will see it’s starting to peel, it does have surface rust, but have no fear, it’s still structurally sound and they will look a lot better once completed.
So what we have here is now the powder-coated frame, but what happened in between last time? Well, we took out all of the dents, we sandblasted it to get the surface rust off of it, we powder-coated it and we cured it.
But why does it have to be powder-coated? Because it is more durable. It will have another 20 years of life for sodas, for popcorn grease, for all the spectator love. It’s going to look fabulous the next time you are there at NRG Stadium.

So the next time you’re there for your favorite concert or your favorite Monster Jam, you can see what we have done, the nice clear coating, and we’ve also done about a half-inch of gunk that we removed from bubblegum, from sodas, from all your nacho grease, everything that’s been on there, and it’s ready for you to come back and enjoy even more.
