Charlie: Steven wants to know, how does he fix condensate on his bathroom AC vent?
Steven
Tom: A couple of things you need to look at. If you’re really … If you wanted the easy way out, his AC vent’s probably metal.
Charlie: Mm-hmm (affirmative).
Tom: Replace it with a PVC, and let it go at that. It won’t get as cold so you probably won’t get it dripping on your head. The problem usually is, is this, if you take the register off there’s a transition box behind the Sheetrock. If there’s a little gap between that box and the back of that Sheetrock, it creates just enough humidity and hot air coming in from the attic to create that sweating issue. If you get some caulking and caulk around that gap first and put your register back, it should stop it. If you don’t want to go through all the caulking and stuff, get a PVC register that’s not metal, and it’ll probably stop it.
