Will a 4 inch patio slab be thick enough to build a pergola on?

David in The Woodlands, Texas wants to build a pergola on his 4 inch thick backyard patio slab and needs to know that the slab is thick enough to hold the weight of the pergola. We asked Mike, from Mike Ball Irrigation and Landscapes if there’d be a problem.
