Solotubes

My den is so dark. I’ve seen an advertisement about a product called “Solotubes” (I think that’s the name of it). It’s an insert through the roof. Can you tell me the pros and cons about this product?

Maybe water leaks, brightness etc.

Eugene

Tom: The con is if you want the light off during the day, you can’t turn them off. The pro is you don’t pay any money for them and you have light in the room. They do use a diffuser, all the different brands do, so it diffuses the light to where it’s a more comfortable light and it’s a much more energy efficient way of doing it as opposed to a sky light which is nothing but a big, old window and a hole in your roof that gives you real light spots, then dark spots around it. This is actually more like a light that you turn on. If it’s not over your bed or over a place where you do want to maybe sleep in one day or not have light, it works fine. A lot of people use them.
