If you have a dryer vent that goes from first floor through the attic, do you have to take apart the connection where the booster fan is in order to clean both ends? (i.e., from the dryer to the booster fan and from the booster fan to the roof) Or can this system be totally sealed and cleaned by a professional from both ends?

Tom: Professionals will clean it without taking it apart. It’s that simple. If the fan motor starts to fail or it needs to be taken apart for another reason they certainly will do that, but for cleaning they remove the dirt. They just don’t shove it into the fan. At least they better.
