Radiant barrier and metal roofs

Hi Tom,
We are building a barndominium at our place in the country. I will be a metal building and roof. Do we need the radiant barrier if it is a metal roof?
Our main house has a barrier and it is a great help in cooling.
Thank You for your help on this and all you have given us over the years.
Best regards,

Terry

Tom: Any time you air condition any kind of building, no matter what it’s built out of, radium barrier in this part of the country, not necessarily Canada by the way, is incredibly important. That’s it. Make sure it’s used properly. It faces an airspace. Follow all the rules associated with any kind of radium barrier installation. Metal does have an E rating but not as low as a radium barrier. You’ll get the benefits from it.
