Best moisture barrier

I’m replacing gable on one side of my house. I would consider Hardie but the other side is still in great shape and want it to match. I know I need some kind of moisture barrier but I’m not familiar with what type I should use.
I’m going back up with Pine siding (T1011 or T something, not sure what the numbers are in the name of the product. It’s 30 plus years old) What product should I put up as a moisture barrier?
Thanks,

David

Tom: There’s a lot of products out there right now, and they all have a bunch of different names. Hardie makes one. Good sponsor of the show. They make a HardieWrap.
Charlie: HardieWrap. Yup.
Tom: That’s right. Then you have Tivec. You can even use something as simple as 15-pound felt that we used back in the ’60’s, especially behind …
Charlie: Those were the days.
Tom: It worked, and, in fact, that felt today is actually better because it’s got a fiberglass mat in it, and that would work too if you want to save a few bucks because it’s the gable. It’s not really energy efficiency. It’s moisture barrier only.
Now, two other things. One is Hardie does make a look-alike T1-11, so you can still look at that, if you’d like, and, if not, go ahead and do the T1-11. Remember, they make different kinds of styles of T1-11, so you have to measure it. It could be a 10″. It could be a 6″, depending on the size of the pattern on there, so remember you have to have that pattern size too to match. Simple. Yeah. It’ll work. It’ll last a long time. It’s a plywood siding is what it is.
