We have a 5 year old dryer that turned on and heated the cloths, but then stopped during the cycle and won’t come back on. Outlet is okay. Last time I called out someone to repair this dryer, he replaced a sensor and charged $300. Hell’s Bells…I’d just rather buy a new dryer for that. I know a new dryer costs more than that, but my question is this. I’m going to try to open the back and see if anything obviously looks like it went bad.
Thank you
Donald
Tom: He can do that. I don’t think he’s going to find anything. Most of the controllers on the dryers are all where the buttons and the dials are. It’s all computer chips now.
Charlie: Right.
Tom: They literally will take a symptom now and just say, “Well, it says in my book to replace this part.” They don’t even know if they’re good or not. It’s kind of a hit and miss game.
Charlie: Yep. Remove and replace.
