I am building a new ICF home in the hill country and will be installing ceramic or stone floors.
My builder recommends “dry packing” the foundation for the install. As I understand it, the concrete is poured slightly lower than the target height, and then filled over and packed with some mix. I am told this will provide a perfectly flat floor rather than dealing with the highs and lows of the original pour. For my design of 2,850 sq ft, this is an additional $ 6800.00. Are you familiar with this, and is this your recommended procedure?
