Charlie:
Larry in Alvin writes, “Have you ever heard of squirrels eating felt moisture barriers in a home?”
Podcast: Play in new window
Tom:
They eat everything. Not necessarily eat them, but they want to get in the home. They will chew threw wood shingles, they will eat lead off your lead jacks on a roof. I don’t know why, but apparently, it’s tasty. I haven’t tried it.
Charlie:
That’s why they’re crazy.
Tom:
That’s why you don’t eat city squirrels. They have lead poisoning.
Charlie:
You have to on the country !
Tom:
Yeah. No, they don’t have any lead there, yeah.
Charlie:
Hunting tips with Tom.
Tom:
Yeah. You asked me if you’ve ever heard, yes. They’ll eat everything. Not necessarily eat it, but chew threw it.
Charlie:
What do you do?
Tom:
Actually, if it’s trying to get back in its home, if it had a home there before, squirrels are very weird that way. They’re very monogamous. They mate for life. Once they find a home, they’ll keep going back until they die. They’ll die trying to get back into the home. You catch them and either move them to the woods, which is illegal, or you …eradicate them!!
