Charlie: Steven in Richmond say,s “My grandmother’s told she needed 60 feet of new plumbing pipes to her cast iron pipes being full of water with a few holes already. She was quoted $12,000 is there another option?”
Tom: If it’s underneath the street or something, maybe. Underneath the World Trade Center that used to be there, I don’t know something.
Podcast: Play in new window
Charlie: When they built my house most of the plumbing was under the road, so, seriously Tom I need-
Tom: I’d call another plumber and get some more opinions on that. Quite frankly all drain lines leak a little bit, they’re not under pressure. Usually that’s the good tree that’s growing in your yard, the drain line goes under that and it’s getting all that nutrients. Make sure you actually need it, and the way to know that is if it clogs up all the time. $12,000 seems a lot, but I don’t know enough about the whole project to say if it’s actually right or not.
Charlie: Well since this is her drain pipe she could be a candidate for TDT’s in place repair.
