Colten Burton:
You’re talking 6,000, 7,000, 8,000 square foot homes. Hi, my name is Colton with Gentek USA. Today we’re going to be talking about sizing and performing a proper load analysis for generators. So right here we have a 26 KW Generac. Now this Generac is going to suit most homes needs. If you’re in that 1,500 to 3,000 square foot range, we can always apply some smart management modules.
But this is meant to be a whole home standby generator right here. This is going to run your AC units, all appliances, all your lights, everything you need. And as long as you have a fuel supply, this thing will run indefinitely. Now, you do have to be aware of maintenance and other stuff like that, which we’ll touch on in another video. But these things range from 18 KW all the way up to 22, 24, 26. And then Generac’s releasing their new model, which is going to be a 28 KW air-cooled unit, which everyone’s looking forward to.
So for the way bigger homes, you’re talking 6,000, 7,000, 8,000 square foot homes with three or four AC units and maybe an electric car, you might want to step it up to a liquid-cooled unit. This is a 48 KW Kohler, which is really good for those big residential homes with pools, multiple pool pumps, or light commercial application. So as far as the load analysis goes, we have someone come out and we perform an in-depth load analysis with you to make sure all your appliances and everything is going to be accounted for rather than just running just the ACs or just a couple appliances. It’s much better bang for your buck just to get that whole service powered up and ready to go.
