Podcast: Play in new window
Charlie: Michael from uh, Braeswood sent this one in to us… he says the water is going back, into the back of his house. He has, you know when it rains, it pours and comes into the house. He had the foundation company check it out and they said I need drains and regrade the yard. Does that sound about right to you? And is that a (yeah) Family Landscape thing?
Tom: Family Landscape thing….grating the yard in a proper …FHA rules always said you have to have water positively drain away from the house, 4 feet all the way around the perimeter, and of course it has to go somewhere where you want the water to go (ummm hmmm) like the street, or storm drain or something like that. If water puddles next to a house you get all kinds of problems, including foundation problems.
Charlie: That would be bad.
