Charlie: Trent out in Katy writes to us he says: I’m wanting to put some radiant barrier, some spray radiant barrier, in my attic. And he say, he understands the placement it would be, on the underside of the plywood, where the asphalt shingles are attached to. Right? So far right?
Tom: So far, good!
Charlie: And he says: He wants to know, how does this compare to other options, is it worth the money, should he do it?
Podcast: Play in new window
Tom: Worth the money, yes, I mean, if you’re just talking about the amount of paint and a little bit of labor, even if you pay somebody, the answer is absolutely a radiant barrier is something that should not be ignored in this part of the country. And uh….how does it compare?
Charlie: But the difference between the foil and the spray has become so narrow, hasn’t it?
Tom: That’s what I mean, so it’s almost not worth discussing like we used to, cuz it used to be like politics Charlie, there used to be like a …triple digit….difference….like in all these things we’re watching now…could be a 20% or 30%…but now it’s really closed the gap and….the amount of delegates would probably be split evenly if they both compared to each other with one getting maybe one or two more. And that means the foil will still out perform, but only by a few single digit percentage points.
