I’m not mechanically inclined. My toilet barely has any water in the bowl. How can I get it to where when I flush it fills the bowl up with water again?
My home was built in the early 80’s.

Tom: I don’t know what’s wrong with the toilet. You’ve got to check the water line in the tank. If you look in there, there’s going to be a little line on there saying water line. Make sure it fills up to that point. If the flapper’s dropping too quick, you can shorten the chain on the flapper so it pulls it up a little higher and allows more water to go through or if you have a venting issue or a partial clog somewhere and you can test it by taking a 5 gallon bucket of water and just pouring it into the bowl really quickly. It should exhaust very quickly. If it doesn’t and it builds back up, that means that you have a blockage somewhere and if you’re vent is not working right, it also will suck that water down, too, but I have a feeling it’s going to be somewhere that the flapper’s dropping too quick or you don’t have enough water in the tank.
