Gina in Spring. Help us Gina with a question. Here it is. I ask and it comes out. She says “About a year ago,” she says, “I stained the outdoor cedar room in my house and it’s already getting a bleachy kind of look.” What can she do about that?

Tom:
Going to have to restain it. Wash it and restain it. Stain doesn’t last very long. In some cases, depending on the type of stain you use, it fades very fast, according to how the weather hits it and how the sun hits it, that kind of thing. If it’s looking bad, remember any kind of stain you use the more pigment the better. I would probably recommend you going to a semi-transparent stain or if it even gets really bad because of the location of the house, go to a solid color stain. It’ll last much longer and fight the UV rays. It sounds like it’s a sun issue.
Charlie:
She bought her last stuff on Aisle 9.
Tom:
Oh no no. Go to a real store.
Charlie:
Don’t go … Right. Go to a real paint store, Gina.
Tom:
Absolutely.
Charlie:
Don’t go to the box.
