Charlie: Karen, she writes, “I want to install a lawn sprinkler system. I wanted to know the best time of year to purchase for a bargain.”
Podcast: Play in new window
Tom: No bargains. Whether it’s hot, cold, in between, they’re going to charge you the same. It’s not some seasonal thing where they’re looking for work.
Charlie: Right.
Tom: Sprinkler systems, I just had mine fixed the other day. A tree busted the pipe. I had water everywhere. And that tree is just huge. Anyway, they had a heck of a time fixing that pipe but it’s … you put it in when you can put it in. If you’re ready to go, in fact, right now Charlie, one of the things I’m telling people is do an assessment of your home. You’re going to have some projects you’re going to want to do this year. I have some. You might have some. Either they’re repair or improvements. This is an improvement so set your budget, get your estimates and go ahead and schedule it. What’s more important to you? One, two, three, four. For the year?
Charlie: Wow. You’re so-
Tom: It’s a science, man.
Charlie: I never had … I had no idea-
Tom: It’s called OCD.
Charlie: You were so process driven.
Tom: I am.
Charlie: Okay.
Tom: You ought to see me make a sandwich.
Charlie: I’ve seen you. I was getting to the point where they say, “Dang, we need new sprinklers or make a phone call.”
Tom: Okay, we can do that too.
Charlie: Okay. So Karen call Family Landscapes. They’re the folks we’d recommend for-
Tom: Oh, absolutely.
Charlie: That.
Tom: Yes.
Charlie: Okay.
