Should I take it or leave it?
I’m buying a house in the memorial area that’s about 50 years old. I’ve had all the inspections including engineering/mechanical, hydrostatic, roof, A/C, termites. The hydrostatic guys identified a leak in the master shower that needs repair. I thought they told me it was the drain pan but the report said the leak is in the drain. The company that did the inspection said they don’t do the work but approximated the cost to demo, repair and retile at $1750. My option runs out Monday and wanted to see if this sounds right on cost and if you had someone you’d recommend to make this type of repair.
Also, the inspector noted that there are no “weep holes” on the home and that this was an “as built condition.” Would you recommend adding weep holes to the house at this point and if so what is a good contractor you’d recommend and the approximate cost.
