Doug up in Spring Shadows, or over in Spring Shadows, depending on where you’re listening, he says, “The rollers on the bottom of his sliding door on his patio have been damaged where it must be lifted and the door set back on the roller and the rail seems to have some damage and all that. Is there a fix for that or is the fix a new door?”

Tom:
Actually, there might be a fix for it. If you can find, and they’re becoming less and less common, people that work on these. Glass companies will come in and put a new track down, put new rollers in, some of them. I would call some of the major glass companies in town to find out if they still work on these old sliding doors. But it is a dying art and a dying thing where people will just as soon sell you a new set of doors because it’s so much easier than trying to keep those old things working. The chances are that if you go to Door Clearance Center or … You can talk to Jim Fumie and look at some of his patio doors or whatever, get someone else to look at some of the doors out there, maybe you can go online and look at stuff, but I have a feeling the best fix is going to be a new door system.
