My husband and I live in a home that’s was built in 1977. We want to replace the piping in the entire house. Can you recommend someone that can do this properly and will do a good job? My husband is very knowledgeable of how and what needs to be done so we really need someone that can do the job and do it well. Preferably someone that will do the work rather that send others to do it for him.

Tom: Well, I don’t know if I would re-pipe if it was me. I’d look into a renewal of the pipe, but it sounds like her husband knows exactly what he wants and there’s nothing wrong with that. If you want a good plumber to follow through and if you want is what they’ll do, if they agree with you, at least in theory and it’s a good process that would be Abacus Plumbing, for sure.
Charlie: They’re not going to come back with metal pipes, probably. They are probably going to do …
Tom: If somebody says, I want this and it’s really bad, no company is probably going to do it unless it’s a company that just wants the cash.
Charlie: No, I’m saying if they’re re-piping the house, it’s not like they are coming in with metal … they’re going to put pecs pipe in there, aren’t they.
Tom: This gentleman might be so old school that he insists on new copper.
Charlie: Wow.
Tom: You could have people that do that and it’s okay, but with the new pex piping and other options you have and then the renewal if you have old galvanized with the Ace Duraflo, you got a lot of options out there, but some people are super old school and still might want a copper run. Hopefully, they don’t want galvanized.
