Preventing hundreds, if not thousands, of gallons of water from flooding your house.
Hello here. Chris Bogs with Du-West Total Plumbing again. Another couple water heater accessories I’d like to talk about would be flood-proofing your water heater. Here, you see we have a sensor installed so that if the water heater pan ever gets wet, it will send a loud chirping alarm to you, letting you know that something’s going on, and it’s not right.
A couple things that we can do as well is install a wired one with an electric ball valve for an emergency flood stop. What it does is has a sensor down in the water heater pan. Once it gets wet, it sends an alarm but also shuts off the water to the water heater, preventing hundreds, if not thousands, of gallons of water from flooding your house. A lot of insurance now require those or can give you better prices when you get that installed on your home.
