I can’t tell you how many calls I’ve been to where the dishwasher’s not draining because they didn’t knock out the plug that comes pre-built in.
This is Chris Bogs with Du West Total Plumbing. Today we’re going to be talking a little bit about garbage disposals.
Here you can see we have the garbage disposal. Now, there’s many things that go along with the garbage disposal. If you have a dishwasher, this is where it arms through the cabinet, ties in. I can’t tell you how many calls I’ve been to where the dishwasher’s not draining because they didn’t knock out the plug that comes pre-built in. From there, you have the tailpiece and the connections going over to where the basket strainer also ties in up top. Then it goes down to the P-trap. That’s important to keep sewer gases out of your home. Nobody wants their kitchen smelling like a sewer line. From there, it goes into the wall, then down under the slab.
