Houston ToolBank, the right tools for organizations doing the right thing

Houston is a generous city. Hundreds of organizations make a difference in the lives of others everyday. Making that happen often means having the right tools. The Houston ToolBank provides them to qualifying groups. Borrowing them is easy.

Houston ToolBank is for helping hands

Getting any job done right means having the right tools. This is often a problem for non-profit organizations. Tools aren’t cheap. Keeping track of them isn’t easy. These kinds of problems can put a crimp in service projects. That’s why the Houston Community ToolBank exists.

The Houston Community ToolBank is a nonprofit tool lending program. It serves other nonprofits, loaning high-quality tools. This helps with painting schools, repairing seniors homes, landscaping public spaces and more. ToolBank helps make sure volunteers get needed tools for three pennies on the dollar.

Qualifying for support

Before using The ToolBank, an organization must first become a member agency. That means completing an online application. There is no membership fee. But, only not-for-profit organizations are eligible. Qualifying organizations include: Charitable or tax exempt organizations. Schools, Neighborhood associations, Faith-based groups, and Civic organizations also are eligible. A 501(c)3 tax exemption is not a required.

The ToolBank has an enormous supply of tools. But, their supply has limits. Plan ahead. Check availability for your project dates. Then, make a reservation. The ToolBank will have your tools ready and waiting.
