Hi Tom:
My wife and I live in the The Woodlands with our daughter, We would like to add a room (a study) to adjoin our exisiting home. I know of full service companies that design and build the room whereas others work off of plans made by architects/engineers. Which route do you recommend? Also would you be able to recommend any companies/architects/designers that serve The Woodlands area that can help me?
Thanks,
Sriram
Tom: A lot has to do with the scope of the project. If it’s a really big project and you’re doing a $500,000 remodel then an architect firm is definitely the only way to go. If you’re doing a normal remodel and adding a room like a lot of us do to our homes or converting a garage or doing something of that nature, I think a company that can do the drawings to your liking can certainly build it from their drawings and it’s not that hard to do with AutoCAD systems on the computer today. One way or the other it just more depends on the scope and as far as one of our sponsors, Trifection, could probably help you out with that they have design and build whether it’s just a kitchen or a room addition.
