Charlie: Needy in Kingwood says that the window leaks only when there’s a heavy rain. It looks to him like the water is on the inside of the hardie flashing at the roof line, and thinks it may be that the gutters can’t handle the rain. He’s wondering who should he call first on this. Should he call the gutter person, like Gutter Professionals, or should he call Jim at Ideal to look at waterproofing the house? Which would you do first?
Tom: You know, we get questions like this all the time. He almost has his own answer because he’s there and I’m not.
Charlie: Mm-hmm (affirmative).
Tom: Go with your intuition. If you think it’s the gutter, then start with the gutter person. There’s no doubt about it. Many times people have an intuition, and if you follow your heart sometimes and not always your brain, you end up in the right place. It is, it really does work that way. Call Lori at Gutter Professionals of greater Houston. Make sure the gutter is in good shape, and then if you still have a problem, you can go ahead and trouble shoot it. I think he already knows he has some kind of problem with his gutter.
Charlie: With the water getting up over them and not being able to handle them.
Tom: Yeah, who knows, or it’s crawling behind it or something. I don’t know. When people ask questions like that, I listen very carefully believe it or not, and I think he knows there’s a little something wrong with his gutter.
Charlie: You think, and that’s why you like those bigger six inch gutters, is that right?
Tom: If not six inch, five inch is fine, but then I like the bigger downspout. It depends on the run. It has to exhaust it very quickly if it’s not exhausting quickly you can have problems, or other problems too. Maybe just clogged gutters that need a cleaning and a cover. There’s other issues that could be involved.
Charlie: You can’t do better than Lori’s gutter covers too.
Tom: No, they’re great.
Charlie: She’s good people too. You’ll like her.
Tom: Yes she is.
