I have continuous ridge vents on the top of my house. Why is there fiberglass insulation in my ridge vent? I want to keep bugs out so why not put mosquito netting on the roof beneath the ridge vents?

Tom: I guess if you want to try to seal up that [tight 00:00:17], first off mosquitoes don’t come in a ridge vent. Mosquitoes travel about six foot off the ground. That’s about it. As far as bugs, ridge vents and bugs really don’t have an issue. Why somebody stuffed fiberglass insulation in there, I have no idea, probably to keep the bugs out. I would pull that insulation out so your ridge vent actually works and just let it go at that. It’s very hot up there. Bugs don’t like being up there. They want to be in the kitchen with you.
