I want to coat some exposed bolts under my beach house before they are painted so the rust doesn’t start coming through after a few years. Any suggestions?

Tom: Rust is going to come through anyway.
Charlie: Okay.
Tom: You cannot fight it. I tried. I’ve tried and tried. A rusty metal primer or an aluminum paint will slow it down, and you can paint on top of it. But you know what? It’s the beach, man. It’s just the beach. I don’t know what to tell you. I’m going to lose it, because I love it. But it’s just the beach.
