Should I get pipe replacement or get the epoxy coating for my old water pipes?

Charlie: Lauren in Springs says, “For old water pipes, Tom, do you recommend pipe replacement or coating the existing pipes in a home?”

Podcast: Play in new window

Tom: If you just want to do the pipes I would just have them sand blasted and redone by TDT. It’s just that simple. It’s quick. A couple days you’re done, and you’re off to the races after that, but if you’re going to remodel your entire home and you’re redoing bathrooms and moving toilets around then that would … Probably any good plumbing company would end up wanting to just re-pipe the home, but it’s all destroyed as it is anyway all opened up, so.

Charlie: The thing is that there are in some places, in some houses they do. I was talking to Vic over there about this. In some houses when they go to do their ePIPE process there are parts of the house that they wind up having to re-pipe because the pipes are so far gone. The nice thing about TDT is they do both.

Tom: Oh absolutely, yes.

Charlie: They can re-pipe or they can ePIPE.

Tom: They will make the decision with you, yes.

Charlie: You bet. You go to tdtepipe.com. That’s where you can learn about them.
