Oil in the freon line

I had Absolute Comfort Air come out for an A/C check. I was told there was oil in the freon line and it was causing the contactor to burn out because the unit was working too hard. Have you ever heard of this?

Tom: It can happen. Oil in the Freon lines happen, and that’s not a good thing. This is when you get your check, we have to take care of this now to keep the unit running, so they’re going to have to reclaim that refrigerant and clean out those lines, probably with a nitrogen, and then get the thing working right. It’s what you do every year.
Charlie So this is not a death sentence.
Tom: No.
Charlie It’s just … okay. Good.
Tom: No, no, this is the things that happen.
