Charlie:
Darlene is in Spring Shadows and she has a problem. They’ve had the water …
Tom:
She should move.
Charlie:
She’s had some flooding issues, and she wants to know about …
Tom:
Oh, then she should move.
Charlie:
… lifting her house up three feet to prevent flooding.
Podcast: Play in new window
Tom:
You can do it.
Charlie:
Who do you recommend?
Tom:
There’s only one person I know if it’s a slab home and that’s going to be DuWest Foundation Repair.
Charlie:
Yep.
Tom:
Actually, I think they actually do pier and beam homes like that and raise them, too. Is it worth it?
Charlie:
They have a picture of a house, I think it was in Pasadena, where they lifted it up six feet.
Tom:
I know they did one almost exactly like that over here in Meyerland years ago, it was one of their first homes.
Charlie:
Was it Mireland maybe, then?
Tom:
Yeah, it was all brick. They put that thing way high in the air, but it’s usually not worth it. You’ll have to decide that on your own. The Dutton family over there can help you decide if you want to do it or not. I don’t know of anybody else that can do it but them.
