Insulating my garage door

Will insulating my garage door reduce the heat in my garage?
My house faces east and therefore receives a lot of sun in the early hours of the day. I do turn on a fan from time to time to get some sort of ventilation and it does seem to help a lot. However, I am now looking for something more permanent. Please help. If you have any other suggestions please let me know.

Tom: No, not to where you’re walking through it. I guess, in theory, if you did some point testing on it, you would find some areas that might be cooler with it than without it. The bottom line is this; when you insulate a garage and it’s hot in there, when the sun goes down, it stays hotter longer. Is that what you want? Usually, the answer’s no.
