How do I get hot water to my shower faster?

Charlie: Steve in the Woodlands says, “My water heater is in the attic, and it takes several minutes of running water to get hot water to the shower.” Is there any way to decrease the time and waste less water, Tom?

Tom: Absolutely. A circulation system will work. You could call Abacus Plumbing, they can put a circulation system on that keeps the water hot in the pipes as well as the water heater will keep it hot in the tank. So, when you turn it on, it’s almost instant there. It’s that quick. So, it’s an easy thing to solve. A lot of people want more water heaters, that’s not the issue. You’ve got plenty of hot water, you want a point of use system, which is a circulation system.
