Charlie:
Renee in Meyerland says they’re painting their entryway and the husband removed some baseboards along the wall by the porch and there were water stains on the sheet rock and there also appeared to be some kind of dirt or gravel-like material under the wall between the slab and the sheet rock in a couple of places she says. It looks like there’s been a small amount of water, maybe it pooled or something on the tile outside. She says that they have gutters, they back up all of the time, and water will pool outside but it never seems to come in the house.
Tom:
Apparently it is.
Charlie:
I’m just going to say. Tom, she wants to know, does she get the wall fixed, does she get the gutters, what’s first?
Tom:
I think you need to stop the problem and that’s the gutters. The gutters back up regularly. Water backs up regularly. Just because she doesn’t have to mop something up doesn’t mean it doesn’t soak in the wall and bring in all the dirt and stuff too and it could be ants or termites getting in there bringing in even more debris since it stays wet. Okay, so that could be a real problem that they don’t even know they have yet. As far as that goes, let’s start with the gutters and solve the problem and then fix the result of the problem.
Charlie:
Who would she call for that Tom?
Tom:
Gutter Professionals of Greater Houston come to mind.
Charlie:
There you go.
Tom:
No, call the Gutter Professionals, they’ll do a good job but you know what the problem is. A lot of people it’s obvious, they know what the problem is, but they’re trying to find a way around it and you really can’t.
Charlie:
Trying to get out on the cheap.
Tom:
I don’t even know if it’s that. I think it’s just I don’t know the obvious sometimes. It’s that Mr. Obvious commercial you know? People go right past the obvious.
Charlie:
Captain Obvious.
Tom:
Captain Obvious, yeah.
Charlie:
All right.
Tom:
Call Gutter Professionals of Greater Houston.
Charlie:
Then maybe probably Rudy to do some repair around the house.
Tom:
Yeah, if he’s not going to do it himself. He apparently tore it apart, I thought maybe he might put it back together, but if he doesn’t Rudy certainly can.
Charlie:
It sounds like he’s going to be replacing some sheet rock too.
Tom:
Don’t know but pull it out and see.
Charlie:
Who knows what’s behind it too?
Tom:
Yeah, but there’s only one way to know is look.
Charlie:
Go to the source first and stop the gutter with Gutter Professionals.
Tom:
Absolutely.
