Do Bricks Stick?

I purchased a home in Tomball, TX with a 12′ x 12′ covered screened-in porch in the back yard.

It was not to my taste, so I supported the roof and removed all of the 2×4 that were holding it up. It is now hanging on 4 steel corner posts. It has a brick floor, and I have removed the outer bricks, and want to ring the remaining bricks with a 3′ strip of concrete. The remaining brick floor is about a 10′ square. My question is will the concrete adhere to the bricks without a thin crack all the way around, or do I need to put an expansion joint between the bricks and the concrete strip?
