Charlie: Chris in Pearland starts with replacing his deck in Galveston. He wants to know, the deck is going to be painted, but what size wood would you use on the deck surface? What type, you know, would you go treated, kiln-dried, et cetera? What’s your recommendation for him doing?
Podcast: Play in new window
Tom: Well, you’re going to use treated lumber no matter what it is, if it’s a deck. And as far as the walking surface, it would be a two by six. I mean, it’s that simple. We don’t even need to take it further than that.
Charlie: Fair enough.
Tom: And just keep a gap between and if you’re going to paint it, it’ll paint fine.
