Deck protection on the beach

I live in Galveston on the beach. What do I use for deck sealing and how often do I do it.

Tom: I don’t think you should do anything. I had a home on the beach, and I had a deck all the way around the house. No matter what you do that water, that salt, that whole environment down there’s going to win. I would probably just leave it alone. If you want to go ahead and try sealers he’s probably going to have to do it every six months.
Charlie:: Six months?
Tom: Yeah, oh Charlie:, that salt down there. It always wins.
Charlie:: I remember my Dad had a boat, I remember.
Tom: You put a brand new light fixture on, six months later it’s hanging from the wires, everything rusts away. You get a new car, it’s old in six months, it doesn’t look good.
Charlie:: I feel that way anyway.
Tom: Anyway, it’s something special about living on the beach, but you can’t have a perfect environment. If you do want to seal it, go ahead. Remember this, we’ve talked about it before , Charlie the more pigment the more protection. If you want to do a solid color stain that would probably be a good one, as long as it’s a deck stain. It’s still going to have to be done maybe not every six months, but it won’t keep looking new for a long time like you would inland, as opposed to on the ocean.
