Charlie:
Larry, in Bel Aire, says he has condensation, Tom, inside his double pane windows. He wants to know if you know of anyone that can fix that, or replace them. I know you know somebody who can replace them.
Podcast: Play in new window
Tom:
If he wants to replace all his windows, instead of replacing all the glass because it’s all the windows, I think it would be a better choice. Then, of course, Gulf Coast Windows, and take a look at the new compozit window.
As far as that goes, if you just have a couple of windows that the glass has gone bad, call a glass company, and they can go ahead and replace those panes of glass. They’ll make a whole double pane unit, and put them back in, just as if your kid threw a baseball through the window, and you had to fix the glass. It’s as easy as that.
Charlie
What’s the dividing line? If I’ve got two, or three, or four windows that this is happening, it’s time to look at replacement?
Tom:
You know that’s a monetary thing. What I would do is find out how much it costs to fix the glass. I would find out what it would cost, just get an estimate, from Gulf Coast Windows, and decide about the quality of the windows, and if you’re ready to get rid of the old aluminum windows, if that’s what you have, but if you have really good quality windows, and you had a couple of them that just went bad, then it t not be worth it. You have to get all the prices, and talk to the people, and then everybody makes their own decision based on what they can handle.
Charlie
Here’s another piece of advice to you, Larry. If you do have those window people come over, make sure your wife is not there because they’re going to show her all these beautiful pictures.
Tom:
Yes, the windows are nice. The windows are fantastic.
