Bubbles in the laminate flooring

I have laminate flooring in our master bedroom about 10 years old. There is an on-suite bathroom. The floor has started showing bubbles in the middle of the floor area. Is this the life span for laminate? Or, what may be causing this? If it needs to be replaced, do you recommend laminate again or hardwood? And, what contractor would you suggest?

Tom: No, I think it’s a water issue. Laminate will … If a laminate floor wears out, it’s usually the surface just starts to get worn right off, kind of like a car that looks like it’s come through re-entry, you know?
Charlie: Or it looks like the floor in the studio in there.
Tom: OK, there you go.
Charlie: Where the chairs have been rolling around on it for ten years, you know?
Tom: Beautiful. Yeah, we’ll put that picture on the website for you, but the bottom line is if it’s bubbling, you’ve got a water issue, and I heard the comment on there about bathroom, right out the bathroom.
Charlie: Mm-hmm (affirmative).
Tom: So there might be a little water coming up underneath there and finding its way to a low spot in the concrete, and then you get a bubble.
