What is the best water purification system?

I’m looking to put in a Water Purification system. It will only be at the main kitchen sink. I have a filter for the water coming out of the refrigerator. I Know this is long overdue.

I have seen a number of reverse osmosis units at Lowes/Home Depot.

Tom: Reverse osmosis is reverse osmosis with any of them. You have to look for how easy it is to replace the filters on a yearly basis, because they do have to be replaced.
How many connections are involved. You want the least amount as possible. It’s going to take up some room. You’re going to have a holding tank, and the actual filter, and membrane, and 2 separate containers, and some of them don’t last as long as others.
So, it’s … You get what you pay for. One of the best engineered ones I’ve ever come across was that Kinetico K5 and, I’ve had others, and they all worked.
I mean, the water was good coming out, but they would leak, the connections would go bad. There was way too many hoses, and stuff. This new Connetico K5 is so well engineered with the connections all color coded in the back. You only have a couple. You don’t have a million of them, and it’s very compact, and it’s very simple to replace the filters, where the others are not. So, that’s one of the things that I really like about it, too.
Charlie: And, you can put multiple ones in there.
Tom: You have a lot of options. If you have a specialty need, adding minerals to the water, or making the water so pure you can use it for medical reasons.
I mean, there’s all kinds of different things you can do with it.
