How do I find best rate for an electric provider? I have 1400sq ft, 6″ studs, super insulated, and I feel penalized because I only use 700 to 800 Kw.

Who are you getting your best energy rate from these days? The lowest I have seen is 9.4 cents for 12 months. I thought I heard you recently say you were paying 8 cents?

Tom: I’m doing 8.4, but I have been looking, and this is the time to shop right now. Charlie I think you and I have a date we have to take care of one of these days, because right now it’s as low as 7 cents a kilowatt hour.

Charlie: Yeah, yeah.
Tom: You’ll be able to see the rates that you will get at your place. As far as being penalized, now 500 to 1,000 you don’t use a lot of electricity, and everybody’s going to charge you more for that little bit, so the rates will be competitive with one another, but they’re going to be higher than if someone like Charlie or I, we use over 2,000 kilowatts a month on average, and even 1,000 more a month, they have some great deals that are even better than some of the twos if you’ll go shopping right now. Powertochoose.org, but either way you win. Right now rates are really low.
