Will that always necessitate the need for what he calls an ERV to ensure enough air changes in and out of the house?

Tom: Not the need for an ERV, but a fresh air return yes, which an ERV is, it’s just a very expensive one, but you can have a simple one like I do in my own home. But is the need there for a fresh air return, absolutely. You need five air exchanges per hour in a home to stay in a healthy environment, after that you get to be in a stale environment which is not good.
