Tom, What measurements should I be aware of when replacing my microwave oven?

Charlie: Frank in  Spring Branch says he needs to replace his microwave oven. It stopped working. It’s 15 years old. I’d say he got his money back on that one. It’s above the oven, but he wants to know what measurements should he be aware of when buying a new one.

Tom: If it’s above the oven, it’s just going to be the width. The depth isn’t a problem. Usually they’re 30 inches, 36 inches. They’re going to be pretty standard.
Charlie: He has a trim kit, Tom, that came with the old one.
Tom: They all have trim kits
Charlie: Well, he’s wondering can the old one be pulled out, and the new one put in with the same trim kit. I don’t think so.
Tom: Not the same trim kit. The new trim kit will come with the particular model. They all have trim kits that come with them.
Charlie: I suggest he turn the whole project over to NorWest.
Tom: Yeah, yeah. It’s easy. It’s going to be very simple for him, not to over-think it.
